What This Product Does

The CSV‑1566 is a USB‑C® docking station that combines:

  • DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode (DP 1.2)
  • DisplayLink™ USB graphics technology

It allows a single USB‑C® host system to connect to:

  • Up to three external displays
  • USB peripherals, Ethernet, audio, and card readers
  • Dynamic charging through the dock

Important Compatibility Notice

Display capabilities—including resolution, refresh rate, bandwidth, and the number of supported displays—are limited by the source device, its graphics controller, USB‑C® implementation, and operating system.

  • The CSV‑1566 does not override or extend host system limitations
  • Actual display behavior depends on DP Alt Mode support, DisplayLink configuration, and OS capabilities

Apple® macOS Systems

  • Apple macOS supports Single‑Stream Transport (SST) only
  • Multi‑display configurations using MST are not supported on macOS
  • DisplayLink™ technology enables additional displays but display arrangement and performance may differ from Windows® systems

This behavior is expected and does not indicate a product defect

DisplayLink™ Driver Requirement

The CSV‑1566 uses DisplayLink™ technology in addition to DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode to support multiple displays.

To enable full display functionality, the DisplayLink™ driver must be installed on the host system.

  • Download the latest DisplayLink™ driver from the CSV‑1566 product page on the Club3D website
  • Install the driver before or after connecting the docking station
  • A system restart may be required after installation

ℹ️ Driver availability and installation steps depend on the operating system.

System Requirements

Before installation, ensure that:

  • The host system supports USB‑C® with DisplayPort™ Alt Mode (DP 1.2)
  • The operating system supports DisplayLink™
  • Latest system drivers and OS updates are installed
  • The docking station is powered using the included external power supply

Connection Instructions

Follow the steps below in order:

  1. Connect the USB‑C® cable to the docking station port marked “To Host”, then connect the other end to the USB‑C® port of the host system.
  2. Connect your display(s) to the available video outputs
    (2× HDMI™, 1× DisplayPort™) and power on the displays.
  3. Connect USB peripherals, Ethernet, audio devices, and memory cards as required.
  4. Connect the 120 W power supply to the DC‑IN port of the dock.
  5. Plug the power supply into a wall outlet and switch the dock ON.

When powered correctly, the purple LED indicator will light up.
 Blue LED indicates stand‑by mode

Power and Charging Behavior

  • External power is required for full operation
  • The docking station supports up to 120 W DC input
  • Up to 80 W is passed through to the host system for charging
  • The host does not need to be connected directly to its own charger

This behavior is normal and expected.

Ready for Use

Once the dock is powered and the LED indicator is illuminated, the docking station is ready for operation.

You can now access connected displays, peripherals, networking, audio, storage, and charging through a single USB‑C® connection.

Common Questions

Will this docking station always support the maximum number of displays and resolutions?
No. Display performance is limited by the host system’s graphics capabilities, USB‑C® implementation, and operating system.

Does the CSV‑1566 change or extend the display capabilities of the source device?
No. The CSV‑1566 passes video signals using DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode and DisplayLink™ technology, but it does not override source device limitations.

Why may display behavior differ between Windows® and Apple® macOS systems?
Apple macOS supports SST mode only. Multi‑display configurations available on Windows® systems may differ on macOS, even when using the same hardware.

Is external power required for normal operation and charging?
Yes. The CSV‑1566 requires the included external power supply. When powered, it dynamically charges the host system.
