What This Product Does
The CSV‑1568 is a USB‑C® docking station using DisplayPort™ 1.4 Alternate Mode.
It allows one USB‑C® host system to connect to displays, peripherals, network, and audio through a single cable.
The dock supports Multi‑Stream Transport (MST) for up to three external displays, depending on host system support, and provides dynamic power delivery to the host.
Important Compatibility Notice
Display capabilities, including resolution, refresh rate, bandwidth, and number of supported displays, are limited by the source device, its graphics controller, USB‑C® implementation, and operating system.
The docking station does not override or extend the limitations of the host system. Actual output behavior depends on both the host device and connected displays.
Apple macOS systems support Single‑Stream Transport (SST) mode only. As a result, multi‑display configurations available on Windows systems may appear mirrored on macOS. This behavior is expected and does not indicate a product defect.
System Requirements
Before installation, ensure that:
- The host system supports USB‑C® with DisplayPort™ 1.4 Alternate Mode
- The host system has the latest operating system and driver updates installed
- External power is connected to the docking station (required for operation)
Connection Instructions
Follow the steps below in order:
- Connect the USB‑C® cable to the docking station and to the USB‑C® port of the host system.
- Connect the display devices to the available video output ports on the docking station.
- Connect USB peripherals, Ethernet cable, and audio devices as required.
- Connect the external power supply to the docking station.
- Power on the docking station.
When the docking station is connected to the host, the device and the white LED turn on automatically.
Pressing the power button will turn the docking station and LED off.
The button press interval must be greater than two seconds for the action to register.
Display Interfaces and Capabilities
Video Outputs
- HDMI™ x2
- DisplayPort™ x1
- VGA x1
DisplayPort™ and VGA share the same channel. DisplayPort™ has priority.
Display Support
- Supports up to three displays simultaneously:
- Two HDMI™ + DisplayPort™, or
- Two HDMI™ + VGA
- Total shared video bandwidth: 16.2 Gbps
Maximum Single‑Port Resolutions
- HDMI™: 4K@60Hz
- DisplayPort™: 4K@60Hz
- VGA: 1920×1200 @ 60Hz
Operating System Behavior
Windows systems (MST supported):
- Dual display: up to 2× 4K@30Hz
- Triple display: 4K@30Hz + 2× 1080p@60Hz
macOS systems (SST only):
- Dual display: up to 4K@60Hz (mirrored)
- Triple display: up to 4K@60Hz (mirrored)
Maximum resolutions require a DP 1.4 Alt Mode host.
DP 1.2 hosts will support reduced resolutions.
Actual output depends on host and display capabilities.
USB Interfaces

Audio Interfaces and Behavior
-
3.5 mm Audio Jack
- Headphone output: up to 96 kHz / 24‑bit
- Microphone input: up to 96 kHz / 24‑bit
- CTIA and OMTP auto‑detection
-
Optical SPDIF (Toslink)
- Digital audio up to 96 kHz / 24‑bit
Audio output behavior: The system audio device can switch between internal PC audio, DisplayPort™ Alt Mode display audio, and the dock’s audio engine.
If the dock is selected as the active audio device and a headset is connected, audio will no longer be output through the connected display. This is expected behavior.
Power Inputs and Charging Behavior
The CSV‑1568 supports a dual power input design:
USB‑C® PD input:
- PD 3.0 up to 100 W
- Up to 85 W charging to host
- 15 W reserved for dock operation
- Supports Fast Role Swap (FRS)
DC jack input:
- Up to 120 W (20.5 V / 5.85 A)
- Host receives 60 W to 100 W depending on system load
The docking station uses smart power distribution and requires external power for full operation.
Ready for Use
Once the docking station is powered and connected, it is ready for operation.
Displays, USB peripherals, wired networking, audio, storage, and host charging can now be accessed through a single USB‑C® connection.
Common Questions
Will this docking station always support the maximum number of displays and resolutions?
No. Display performance is limited by the host system’s USB‑C®, GPU, and operating system capabilities.
Does the CSV‑1568 change or extend the source device’s display capabilities?
No. The docking station passes video signals using DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode and does not override host limitations.
Why do displays behave differently on Windows and macOS systems?
macOS supports Single‑Stream Transport (SST) only, which may result in mirrored displays when multiple outputs are used.
Is external power required?
Yes. External power is required for normal operation, display output, and host charging.
