What This Product Does

The CSV‑2540 is a high‑performance USB‑C® docking station designed to expand a single USB‑C® connection into multiple video outputs, USB ports, wired networking, audio, storage, and charging.

It supports DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode 2.1 and allows:

  • Up to four external displays at 4K@60Hz (DSC), or
  • One external display up to 8K@30Hz, depending on host system capabilities.

Connection Instructions

  1. Connect the USB‑C® cable from the docking station to the USB‑C® port of the host system.
  2. Connect external displays to the DisplayPort™ and/or HDMI™ ports.
  3. Connect USB peripherals, Ethernet cable, and storage devices as required.
  4. Connect the 150 W power supply to the docking station.
  5. Plug the power supply into a wall outlet and switch the docking station ON.

When powered correctly, the LED indicator lights up, indicating normal operation.

Power and Charging Behavior

  • External power is required for full functionality.
  • Up to 100 W can be delivered to the host system, depending on system load.
  • One USB‑C® downstream port supports up to 30 W charging for compatible devices.
  • Another USB‑C® port supports downstream charging up to 5 V / 1.5 A.

Ready for Use

Once connected and powered, the CSV‑2540 docking station is ready for operation.

You can now access multiple displays, high‑speed USB devices, wired networking, audio, storage, and charging through a single USB‑C® connection.

Common Questions

Will this docking station always support four external displays?
Display count depends on host system and operating system support.

Does the docking station increase my computer’s display capability?
No. Display capability is determined by the host system.

Is external power required?
Yes. External power must be connected for the docking station to operate.

Does this docking station support charging mobile devices?
Yes. One USB‑C® downstream port supports up to 30 W charging

Important DisplayPort™ 2.1 Capability

Notice

The CSV‑2540 docking station supports DisplayPort™ 2.1 Alternate Mode, which provides the high video bandwidth required to enable advanced display configurations such as:

  • Up to four 4K@60Hz displays (via DSC), or
  • A single 8K@30Hz display

This capability is provided by the dock hardware itself.

The docking station is downward compatible with earlier DisplayPort™ Alternate Mode versions.

However, actual display resolution, refresh rate, and number of supported displays are limited by the host system, including:

  • The USB‑C® or Thunderbolt™ port implementation
  • The graphics controller (GPU)
  • The operating system

If the host system supports a lower DisplayPort™ version or provides less bandwidth, display performance will be limited accordingly.
This reflects the host system’s capability, not a limitation of the docking station.

Compatibility Notice

Display resolution, refresh rate, bandwidth, and number of supported displays are limited by the host system, graphics controller, USB‑C® implementation, and operating system.

The docking station does not override host system limitations.

Apple macOS systems support Single‑Stream Transport (SST) only.
As a result, macOS systems may support fewer external displays than Windows systems, even when using the same hardware.

  • Make sure displays are powered on before connecting the dock
  • If no display output appears:
    • Check host USB‑C video support
    • Try reconnecting the USB‑C cable
    • Restart the host system
